CLINICAL SUPERVISION & COACHING
I’ve worked as a clinical supervisor across a wide range of mental health settings, including psychiatric intensive care, rehabilitation, and community services. I’ve also been a clinical practice educator for BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy students, supporting them to meet both the HCPC proficiency standards and the academic requirements of London South Bank University.
My approach to supervision is collaborative, structured, and developmental. I’ve supervised everyone from students on placement to seasoned clinicians and multidisciplinary teams. As a manager in a five-ward psychiatric hospital in West Sussex, I line-managed and supervised a team of nine—including occupational therapists, a dietitian, a sports and wellness instructor, and therapy care coordinators—balancing clinical oversight, reflective practice, and service-wide training. I know what it takes to hold clinical, educational, and managerial responsibilities—and to do it with clarity, creativity, and integrity.
In summer 2020, during the chaos and uncertainty of Covid, I took a leap. I left my secure NHS management post and moved to Berlin—no job lined up, no guarantees—just a gut-deep need to live more fully in line with my values. That decision reshaped my life and my clinical practice. I now bring that same spirit into my supervision: it’s not just about playing it safe, but about stepping into your work with purpose, boldness, and a strong sense of what you stand for.
I don’t prescribe to one fixed model. Instead, I draw flexibly from Occupational Therapy frameworks, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy—integrating theory with clinical insight to meet the needs of each supervisee. I work from the assumption that you already have the knowledge to be an effective therapist. I’m not here to lecture—I’m here to help you access, trust, and apply what you already know with greater confidence and clarity.

My supervision doesn’t just focus on clinical work—it also supports your personal and professional development. I draw on motivational interviewing and Socratic dialogue to help you clarify your values, sharpen your goals, and get under the surface of what really matters. Some of the most meaningful supervision I’ve done has involved action planning, values clarification, and structured accountability. Like a good CBT session, we start by reviewing previous goals, reflect honestly on what’s working (and what isn’t), and end with clear, practical targets. It’s not about ticking competency boxes—it’s about moving forward with clarity, focus, and a bit of fire in your belly.
As a BABCP-accredited clinician, I also support supervisees in meeting their own accreditation goals, with a strong focus on developing clinical skills, reflective capacity, and adherence to professional standards.
Above all, I believe supervision must be a space where people can speak freely. I am fiercely pro–free speech and unapologetically committed to creating a space where supervisees don’t have to filter themselves. Growth doesn’t come from silence—it comes from having the courage to think, speak, and question openly.
